What Is Tents & Trees?
Tents & Trees, also known as Trees and Tents or simply a Tents puzzle, is a logic game in which every tree must be paired with one tent in an orthogonally adjacent square.
The numbers outside the grid tell you how many tents belong in each row and column. Tents may never touch one another, not even at a corner, so each mark narrows several nearby possibilities.
How to Play Tents & Trees
Mark empty squares as tents or grass until all four rules are satisfied.

- 4Keep tents from touching one another, including diagonally.
Use grass to mark cells that cannot contain a tent. Grass is only a solving aid—you do not need to mark every empty cell to complete the puzzle.

- Complete zero-clue rows and columns first by marking every open square as grass.
- When a line already contains its full tent total, mark every other square in that line as grass.
- Look for trees with only one available neighboring square.
- After placing a tent, clear all eight surrounding squares because no other tent may touch it.
- Remember the one-to-one pairing rule when several trees share the same candidate squares.
